Yesterday Lydia said goodbye (zaijian in Mandarin) to Grade 1 and the summer break officially began. As the start of year, end of year pics - she's grown from head to toe!

After all the kids from our apartment complex - a Greyhound bus full - got off the school bus on the last day, we all marched to the pool...and the kids jumped in with their uniforms on. This is a tradition started a few years ago by a family who lives here (which we somehow missed last year and was a surprise to Lydia this year). Of course, the kids were all supposed to jump in at the same time, but none had the patience to wait on the line up. Or for their moms to take pictures. Here's Lydia on jump #2:

It was 10 minutes of complete chaos and fun - though the French women sunbathing may not agree with the "fun" part. Definitely something we won't miss next year!
