With the Easter holiday came another school break. A long one - school got out on April 1st and won’t resume until April 12th! With that many free days, we decided to take a short trip.Upon the recommendation of practically everyone we know in Hong Kong, we decided to go to the Shangri-La in Cebu, Philippines. It proved to be a popular getaway for people like us; everyone we met in Cebu were expats from Hong Kong!
Unlike our trip to Cambodia in February, this trip was not a cultural excursion. Other than church and an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, we spent our days in two places: at the beach and at the swimming pool. The sun was blazing hot, hot, hot, but the skies were clear and lovely – a nice respite from the gloomy weather we’ve had in Hong Kong recently.

(One thing that was really neat about this beach, which we couldn't adequately capture in photos was that there were beautiful, colorful tropical fish right at the water's edge. We fed them bread right out of our hands in the morning. Dave did some snorkeling and saw some amazing things. Guess we'll have to get an underwater camera for next time!)
