School's been back in session for a month today. Lydia has loved school the last couple of years, but was a bit uncertain about how she'd like it this year without her best Hong Kong friend who moved back to the US (she had been in Lydia's class the last two years). Luckily, Lydia and a girl she has been friends with since the first summer we moved here were placed in the same class. So far, the result has been nothing but enthusiasm for getting on the bus in the morning. Here's Lydia the first day of school:
One blip in the school year has been that Lydia's teacher left for maternity leave about two weeks after school started, so a new teacher has taken over until November. Apparently, this is only a blip to me - Lydia didn't even mention it when it happened.
All-in-all, we're off to a good start!
